Special Interests: Diabetes, Cardiovascular Medicine including management of Hypertension.
My approach to medical practice focuses on listening carefully to patients, thereby allowing me to offer medical advice and support in a way that fits with their own perspective and experiences.
After qualifying in Medicine at Oxford and London Universities (1985) I trained as a GP in Hammersmith and Fulham. I joined the partnership at Brook Green Medical centre in 1989 and led the development of the new purpose-built Medical Centre in 1997 and the establishment as a training practice in 2002. In 2003 I was awarded my doctorate (DM) from the University of Oxford for work in the field of Blood Pressure Measurement and the Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners (FRCGP).
I have extensive experience of leadership up to Board level and have held senior clinical leadership positions in the NHS (Professional Executive Committee Chairman) and Private sector (Clinical Director of a company that the partnership established in 2005).
My clinical interest in Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease goes back 20 years and I continue to lead on these areas using an extensive network of consultants in West London.
I am a fluent French speaker and enjoy hiking, particularly in the Pyrenees. I have longstanding commitment to developing my ability as a painter, particularly as a portraitist.
